Gosia Koscielak Artist‘s statement from 1989, published in the catalogue Stirring the Thoughts –Parallel Actions, the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Warsaw, Poland, 1989:

“ My works investigate SPACE as  continuous, live matter, not illusive and abstract, but tactile and really existent. Light – darkness – temperature all types of variable and steady motion, the smoothness of surfaces, all colors and forms of the world around us, landscape- topography - geological strata, all that participates in spatial systems and configurations, complex and simple, adding up to many layered, balanced nodes of space – time relationships. I investigate the phenomenon of consciousness in relation to the the vital, changeable, fluid energies of space and time.

What is Stimulation of Space

1. Acceleration of SPACE perception between objects (THE ACTUAL MATTER) rather than objects themselves. Space not as an abstract concept but existing substance in infinity;

2. Demonstration of existence of the SPATIAL INTERVALS;

3. Creation of mutually active structures (light-motion-object)

4. Investigation of the constant changeability of spatial substance.

5. Investigation of visual fields.
